I call it the "Mexican Restaurant" rule. In Mexican Restaurants (well, in American Mexican Restaurants) they serve you chips and salsa as soon as you sit down. You get to start eating right away. In a similar manner, a web site should allow you to get to what you want as quickly as possible. I don't want to spend time searching your site, learning how to use your own special navigation system, of try to read text against an horrible background. I just want to find out what I want to find out.
