our neigbors 3/4 of a mile down the road raised pigs for a while,
and a hot breze in August could about make you eyes water.
Some of the people in the state have set up MAJOR hog facilities,
where they raise 5000+ pigs on a facility 300 acres or less, by
keeping them mostly inside, and giving them feed with grain trucked
in from elsewhere. Most people couldn't concieve of the STENCH
generated by the manure of 5000 pigs living in a space like 40
city blocks... Just imagine that many people, confined, and using
open sewers in that space, then double the volume produced.
THAT smells much worse than cattle, I assure you.
Compared to hogs, or even a poultry facility, I much prefer Cattle. |
