Seems to me that most German entries in the last couple of years were comedy. The Guildo Horn one in '98 I think (song written by Stefan Raab) and Raab himself in '99 were openly comedy and ticked off all the 'Schlager' fans, especially Ralph Siegel, one of the authorities in that genre, and the others were by Ralph Siegel, and one can only wonder whether he meant them that way.
The Austrian must have been pretty cool comedy, but I missed that too. I liked Belgium too. Groins vs. ears also true 'bout Russia. That, and former Soviet states still feeling that connection. It's generally funny how certain countries *always* give top scores to certain others. |
