Currently my mousepad is a copy of the K&R2. Because it's about the right size, about the right shape, thin, and I had it around... and I never actually need to _open_ it, because I do all of my programming in VHLLs (mainly Perl) and elisp. Oh, and unlike a foam-and-cloth mousepad, the book is stiff enough to provide a solid surface for the mouse to track on. Since my primary computing environment is not a desk, that is a significant issue too.
