Digital Cable Descrambler Guaranteed?! by AdMan 2006-11-19 12:55:59
AdBrother In Law just loaned me one of those $60.00 *Digital Cable Descramblers to "Test".

Before I commence the "test" are there any UFies with metrics on this?

I have read this thread: E-Gear Forum Thread and this story: MSNBC.com.

UNDERSTAND I AM JUST TESTING,

I will keep meticulous documentation and promptly reimburse the vendor whether said "Test" is a success or a failure.

AdBrother In Law has generously provided the equipment and funding for this research
(sucker got taken for $127, he bought two HPFs and ~$7.00 for S+H).

(*Normal retail value ~$5.00 from RadioShack or E-Bay)

Specs:

Equipment:

1. One Motorola DCT2000 Digital Cable Receiver box.

2. One PCT-HPF-50-NNH (50 MHz High Pass Filter)

3. One set of totally useless instructions for "Clearing the Memory."
Vendor:

RCN/Starpower provides our Digital Cable TV signal, Landline Telephone and High Speed Cable Modem.

Shall I proceed?
