Woo! Nifty and good for the conscience! by McNutcase 2003-05-24 09:17:16
I decided, the best way to do my bit for El Reg's bandwidth bills is swag. So I have an O'Really t-shirt (Practical Unix Terrorism; I'm awaiting the arrival in their store of Why You Can't Find Your UNIX System Administrator) and yesterday my new toy came... it's good for 3 reasons.
1, it's helping keep El Reg online - where else can I find such a cynical approach to tech news?
2, it's something that produces electrics by turny handle. Inherently attractive to geeks (I swear, if I was to advertise a clockwork PDA here, it'd sell out within hours... and I'd want one too)
3, it's a safety device. I can now make emergency calls from my mobile anywhere there's a GSM network in the right frequencies (ie most of Europe) because I can never run out of power.
Also, it has the vulture logo on it, and it's ever so slightly sparkly.
Me like.
