AS some fall in the grey area between ADD and AS and only a clueful doc would know.(mental health unit has a section for adults/teens with AS/Autism and can screen and they do usually have a clue on ADD and several other things)

And yes re the traits being benificial to the tech industry... However not every geek is autistic or aspergers anymore than every autistic or aspergers is a geek.

If you've made it through school to adulthood and out on your own. Diagnosis gives you the benifit of finally understanding "why" to so many questions and finding others that understand. Often the others may share in your intrests, likes, and issues. At least thats what I found... I was diagnosed when very young with stuff however I didn't recieve as much help compared to kids thease days. And I made it through the system with no aid and even being in some gifted classes. My dx also gives me the advantage of special ed help if I need it for colledge as well as helps me get funding for colledge.(check out the ARS program via the federal gov if your curious.)
