stronger systemizing skills. It occurs to me that, as a systems analyst/engineer, my training predisposes me to certain questions on the test. Specifically, had I not been specifically trained in analysis I would not score as high on the systemizing portion and would probably be more balanced.
On the otherhand, early exposure to psychology training (transactional analysis leader. Yes, I speak martian) may help the EQ scores, as well as my management training and experience. Empathy is definitely a learnable skill, for a good analyst.
What I'm saying is that the tests do not appear to measure inherently inate capability. It can definitely be biased by training. Also, as the subject goes trough life, certain life-choices , and associated additional skills, could effect huge changes on their scores.
Without a detailed analysis of the scoring system, I would predict that training can effect changes of as much as 40% on the test scores. Therefore, as a clinical tool for diagnosis, these tests are probably a bit worthless. As a tool for self-improvement these tests could be very useful.
It does beg the question; Is your choice of carreer training a choice between various levels of insanity/dysfunctionality? |
