A Problem by CrazySteve 2003-04-26 19:17:53
No, I'm not back and I've not been anywhere interesting. I have an issue. Due to boredom and the desire to play some more games, I've installed WINE and bought Half Life: Counter-Strike (retail version not the original with the mod on it) and Rouge Spear. I haven't managed to get to the second game yet as I'm having a little trouble with Counter-Strike. I can get sound in the menu when I start the game just fine, but if I try and play the training mission or anything, it loads up the following message:

Using secondary sound buffer
]

If I try using A3D or EAX support it just fails and tries the secondary buffer as well, hence, still no sound. I don't suppose anyone here's tried loading CS onto Linux with WINE and actually gotten sound? After fighting with drivers for my sound card so much, I'd hate to think I'd need a new one.
