Actually, I shouldn't lie. I did think of that. Problem is, I don't want to desolder and then resolder the socket (which would be required to get at the traces I broke). Strange thing is, I get a long beep when I try to turn it on. I was expecting it would act as if there was no processor, but it must be some traces going to the memory. I suppose it would have been smart to try the memory in another slot. Perhaps I'll do that.
