anti-Semitism is "Hostility toward or prejudice against Jews or Judaism. Discrimination against Jews."
Shakespeare was just a product of his times, it's true. And he probably was a pretty good person, comparatively speaking. But that doesn't mean he wasn't prejudiced.
Just ask any Jew if they like being called "Jew dog" or that they must go to hell or that to work for them would make you Jewish. I think they won't take those comments in a good light. |
