On my box it's from the line out on the TV card to the "Line In" of the sound card. I've then got Windows to send line in straight to the speaker output, and I make Linux do the same. Recording Line In gives me the sound stream in both OSs At the moment I don't use the TV Card's Line Out though, as I have a digibox which I've plugged into the sound card's Line In. Have you checked that the TV Card is outputting a sound signal?
