I got my TV card! by pecosdave 2006-11-19 12:55:59
Detail page.

After being outsnipped on ebay twice I finally ordered from an online dealer. In the end it was about the same cost as ebay anyways.

It works fine. Didn't take me long to figure out my version of KWinTV was crap, but it works great with xawtv.

My question: The reason I bought this was to record video footage, mostly from a camera that we have borrowed. I can record video just fine, but the sound from the card is like a CD and music. I has a cable from the TV card to the sound card, and doesn't seem to ever pass through the DSP. I've tried starting xawtv using /dev/dsp, /dev/dsp0 to /dev/dsp3, none of those worked. I did an ls of dev and looked, found /dev/audio, /dev/audio0 - /dev/audio3, same story.

I have a Sound Blaster Live 5.1, I think it's a first gen 5.1 card. I'll answer any other questions if someone has an idea. As for now it's google time.
