the funny bit is that if a meteor was heading straight for Earth, chances are we'd not actually have advanced warning (unless it's one NASA or such have been predicting the path of already). Plus, an decent impact anywhere is death for the whole planet. Up come dust clouds, bye-bye sunlight, hello instant ice age. For once, Hollywood actually underestimates something. ;) (And you want to lay off with the French bashing already? Sheesh.)
