The refresh rate on the monitor at school.. by bailey 2003-04-24 20:10:06
is around 60 hz. for some reason even on 800x600 I can see it when looking straight at it. out of the corner of my eye it simply gets worse. Is there a way to manually crank up the refresh rate? The monitor is not identified at all by the computer. it falls under the "generic" label. computer is running Windows 98. Also if I can do this, how far can I take it without damaging the monitor?

On a side note...

Ths is the same computer I almost got in trouble for changing the label on the C: drive to "eat me". can't imagine why they had a problem with that...

On a further side note... This is a compaq. I don't know what possesed them to buy suchh terrible computers. Granted these are rather old. but the new ones they just bought from compaq are bad too...
