And aren't you glad you're learning this the easy way. The cutoff point is marked by character count, not by vertical space taken up (because it's a lot easier for Perl to count chars than to try laying out the text and measuring the result, not to mention potential wrappage).

So, If you use &lt;br> tags, you'll get a huge visible portion in your TLP and the board will get really long.
