I think you have a couple of options here. Depending on where you live, she has to go to court on the driving without insurance complaint. As the injured party, you should be given notice on that and have the opportunity to ask the judge for reparations. More than likely the court would work out a payment plan for her and take the money in trust until the total was available to give you to. This way doesn't cost you anything. I also assume you have her contact information. It's entirely likely that she may be willing to work something out with you personally to pay for the damage. This would avoid you having to pay legal fees, provided she keeps the agreement. It's always possible that you may need to take her to small claims court to enforce any verbal/written contract you may have with her. I wish you the best of luck with it.
