when you wake up and turn on the tap and get guaranteed clean water ... you drive on the roads ... you get guaranteed quality of the gasoline/milk/foods that you consume ... your children get an education (of sorts -- depending on location -- which is an arguement both for and against federalization) ... you have museums and symphonies that are free to the public to enjoy ... in areas of the country you ride on subsidized public transportation ... you have guaranteed safety in your bank accounts (to a degree) ... you live in a relatively law abiding society ... the consumer goods that you use and consume meet basic standards of quality and safety .... the extreme irony to me (and it COMPLETELY escapes my hubby) is that his entire PAY was made up from taxes for 20 years (he's retired military) ... so what's the big deal about putting it back into the kitty? ... I think some is badly used and want it used better before we pay more, but don't have an overall beef with paying taxes.
