... of "conservative" and "liberal" have little bearing towards what "Republican" and "Democrat" mean in this country. To be honest, I'm a economic conservative, but I hate the bible-thumping self-righetousness of the Republican party, as much as I hate the wussy PC-ness of the Democrats. The left and right wing politics in this country are both reactionary: one side does something, and the other side, in retaliation, does the exact opposite. No one ever thinks any issue through; they just follow their party's line. We dumb every issue down to one of these two viewpoints. No wonder we never seem to make any progress on anything.
