You sound like you really need it.
Some options:
If you can handle sprogs, become a teacher.
A year (can even stretch it to three!) as a student, paid for by the government.
Guaranteed job at the end of it - although you do *have* to teach for a year after the course.
I'm living on around £8k at the moment, and it's perfectly doable in Yorkshire even with the drinking and carousing I get up to.
My bank accounts are slowly filling as well!
Otherwise, get a job up here in Yorkshire.
There are quite a lot, and Sheffield seems to get hit by every trial government scheme going so that ought to help.
Taking a pay cut doesn't really matter - your yearly rent will probably be around £5k for a two-bedroomed house (based on what I was paying last year), and house prices up here are far more sensible!
For £45k you can buy a reasonable semi, or a good terraced. |
