DirectSound might be the problem, by Silvermoon82 2003-04-24 08:55:01
but WA complains if I set it to WaveOut while I'm doing something else with sound. I can't really change the priority for it ATM, Windows is getting shonky (more than usual, I mean), but I can't reformat for a few weeks at least.

XFree86 seems to take forever (forever being measured in seconds, long enough to make me bored and annoyed) to load for me (p3/650). It's even worse when I'm playing with window managers, because X somewhy feels the need to close (slowly) and restart (slowly) every time I switch WMs - which maxxes out my processor and hangs everything else momentarily.
