It's a router (this one actually can route, if so configured); it has an Ethernet uplink (allowing Cable); and it has a builtin PPPoE client (for xDSL). I've never seen one with a builtin broadband modem - the nearest is the Apple Airport AP, which has a POTS modem as well as the Ethernet uplink.
