Though I tend to find that most americans are quite submissive when presented with BBC English. I was the only woman on the helpdesk for quite a while, though, and I'd often get the same customer back a while later, telling me how much more useful I was than the first girl... I did once get some harpie call up. First thing she said was "Oh! A woman! Finally we'll start getting somewhere!" "Quite possibly, Ma'am, but I suspect that has more to do with how long I've been here than the fact I have breasts."
