| being as said cetacean is the local recordable optical media guru... nominal data capacity of an 80 minute CD-R is 700MB, right? How comes I've just managed to burn one with a 702MB image? Tolerances, the little extra they never tell you about, or just an overburn in my hardware? I'm currently using an LG 48x16x48x (model GCE-8480B, nice and reliable), burning Verbatim DataLifePlus 80 minute CDs rated to 40x (although I burn at 24x, since the software only supports up to 32x and if I try that the FIFO runs dry and the record is too faint for the straight CD drive...), if that's relevant... |
