The US gave Iraq weapons (or money to buy weapons) to kill Iranians with during the Iran-Iraq conflict. Also US secretly gave Iran weapons to kill Iraqis with during that same period. And then we have the piece de la resistance. (Excuse my french) During the 80s the United States of America spent some THREE BILLION DOLLARS on training and equipping Osama bin Laden and his organization. Sad, sad irony.
