If some far democrat came to be with all of his views, I can see how it can be a turn off. But do remember that these are extreme cases, and not the norm. To have a blunt statement saying there is no God because of a few extreme people is not taking into consideration of the people that might believe there is a God, that also disagree with the fanfic. Just like there might be some good democrats that would disagree with the far left democrat.
