I take the bus and it sorta makes me nervous by Arienadean 2003-04-17 15:17:31
particularly as I'm one of the high risk people in the sense if I caught it it could kill me.(I've had pneumonia in past in my late teens 2 times and a borderline case one other time) My son would probably be at risk too.(prone to colds/flus)

They say our risks are very low as a populous of getting it. But when you have a kid that has family that goes to china all the time it makes you concerned.(but even they are kind of freaked out... they as in his relatives) On planes the risk is probably higher than on the ground do to recycled air and confined spaces.

The scariest thing in this sars stuff as of late was when the local paper noted that someone with symptoms of it walked into the xray clinic by my docs. My docs office is also walk in to some extent and they always use that xray clinic. So little disturbing to hear how close to home it was so to speak. Also the hospital here that I have to go to for my surgery on June 5th(Eagle Ridge) put out an adivsory apprently and has warning signs in their ER and stuff. So for now I'm assuming my surgery is going ahead as normal but they still could cancel it due to the sars outbreak... and with sars around it does make a person a little nervous to go into a hospital for any reason.(and I know what their quarentine practices are. I was under quarenteen at 19 with ameobic dystentry. Yellow gowns, masks, gloves, scrub up, and anything near you must be destroyed or sterilized before leaving the quarenteen room which is a sealed room.)
