The relationship between education and religion by Egaeus2003-04-17 14:10:37
Well, I for one must disagree with you... by Llyr 2003-04-17 14:47:38
... they must acknowledge that there is absolutely no empirical evidence for the existence of god

This is where I must disagree. Look at how neatly the fundamental equations of the universe fit together. Look at Maxwell's equations. Look at Einstein's equation (not E=mc2, the other one that I'm drawing a blank on atm). Also, I take the human body (and the canine, and the feline, and the reptilian, and what-have-you) as evidence of God. Look how amazingly everything fits together. Look at the knee joint, the fingers, the thumb, the vertebrae. Look at our repair mechanisms. Look at the intricate process of DNA replication. Look at transcription and translation. Look at our circulatory system, our lymphatic system, our nervous system. Look at the amazing intricacy of the Krebs cycle. I could go on for hours.

Now, can you really look at all this, and still tell me that God doesn't exist?

Spencer
