well, Marx believed that revolution would come as a natural part of the oppression of the proletariat, that the proletariat would rise up and throw off the capitalist oppression. One could easily argue that a socialist who reduces the perceived need by the "oppressed masses" to rise up actually reduces the chance of such a revolution occurring. In addition, in order for such a revolution to take place, the masses would have to be armed or the uprising would fail... thus true communists would not advocate gun control.

I know another document that advocated active revolution...The United States Declaration of Independence
