...is perhaps one of the most perceptive writers about war and the history of war alive today. No military historian (amateur or otherwise) should be without his first book appropriately titled War. (The book is out of print but used copies can be found.) Dyer's new book is all about the process behind the scenes and the forces around the world that pushed, pulled, or were otherwise connected to the invasion of Iraq. If it's anywhere near as good as War is, it should be eye-opening.
