But last I heard a boycott is an individual choice, are we supposed to force people to buy French goods just to protect them? Personally I'm not boycotting French or German anything, (not that I have a lot of reason to buy them either) but people sometimes react on an emotional level and if I recall I defended French leaderships right and responsibility to act and vote in the UN in accordance with what was best for their country. It was argued that they may have done it for economic reasons, to which I argued, economic reasons are completely acceptable. However, maybe they didn't consider all the ramifications of their "economic" policy. Maybe estranging a major market like the USA was not particularly good economic policy.
Anyway, they made their bed and now must lie in it... as the saying goes. |
