They are all heroes. They *VOLUNTEERED* to serve in the military and to fight, and possibly die for what they believed in. Our Firefighters, Law Enforcement, EMS, etc. deserve the same recognition. They aren't doing their jobs to get rich, they're doing it because they WANT to. I was once asked by a pacifist why I would volunteer to join the military, when I knew the job would likely involve killing people and possibly being killed. My answer: So someone else doesn't have to.
