I think I've seen enough hard reality in my life to know that war stinks, that people suffer unimaginably. If the news media made a regular practice of showing our soldiers or civilians bleeding and dying, I'd say, "Why isn't our journalist doing something to help?" and I'd get angry... at the journalist. No, I want to know what is going on, and the decisions being made. Constant images of wounded and dying would only desensitize me to the point that I'd quit watching. Just me I guess.
