little intern more "unprincipled" than oh.... lets see....
Warren Harding (29th president of the United States)? An administration riddled with scandals
which resulted in considerable criticism against the president and the Republican party.
Can you spell "Teapot Dome Affair"? was perhaps the most significant scandal to rock our nation until oh, lerts, see... Nixon!
Remember when
Interior Secretary Albert B. Fall leased Teapot Dome to oil interests in exchange for a bribe? He eventually spent time in a federal prison because of his actions. The incident also resulted
in the resignation of Secretary of Navy (Edwin N. Denby - who had consented to the transfer).
Attorney General Daugherty was charged with receiving payments from prohibition violators, and was forced to resignby Harding's successor (Calvin Coolidge).
Or Perhaps Richard Nixon? Ordering illegal wiretaps of your political opponents?
Wiretaps that were paid for by CREEP....(Committee to ReElect the President) AKA the Rebublican Party's slush fund...
Maintaining an illegal "enemies" list and having the FBI search their offices without a warrant?
Conducting illegal "smear" campaigns (can you say "canuck") against opponents who have a chance to beat you in a fair election?
Orchestrating a massive cover up to protect yourself and your political cronies?
Forcing the Director of the FBI to resign when he won't violate the constitution of the Unitied States to protect you?
Resigning your position as President of the United States to avoid certain impeachment and jail?
Appointing a new Vice President (to replace Agnew who resigned in disgrace due to accepting bribes and income tax fraud) who would "pardon" your actions?
Want to get into Reagan and the whole Iran-Contra affair?
Is it unprincipled to finance a drugs for guns deal to support the illegal overthrow of a democratically elected sovereign government? Is it unprincipled to have the CIA develop illegal training manuals for the contras? Ones that advised the "Armed Propaganda Teams" on ways to justify the assassination of civilians, use blackmail and professional
criminals to destabilize a country? Is it unprincipled to shred the evidence after it has been subpoenaed
by congress? do you want me to go on? What? Don't want to talk about letting your brother count the "votes?"
If you don't consider these acts "unprincipled," I guess you're "right"... |
