I worked on a computer at universite that actually had ferrous core (as in coils and magnets) for its memory. We programmed it with switches on the front until we loaded the paper tape loader when we could load a program. Yes, thats one program at a time, no operating system! We debugged it with a compass, to read the memory locations. When we got to a f-gigit, 7-segment hex display, we thought that was magic! VT100 was nirvana when it came along. QOTD: How old am I?!!!
