| As in the Constitution, the Declaration of Independence makes no reference to God or religion being actually involved in the government itself. Indeed, only men are addressed as being involved in government. And, the references to a Creator are distinctly Deist references, not Theist, and certainly not explicitly Christian.
Oh, and you still haven't explained why references to allowing religion in government are so conspicuously absent from the Constitution, nor have you cited any entry showing that my assertion that they are absent is false. Since the Constitution is the legal document upon which our particular flavor of Republic is based on, it should be the primary reference to what the Founding Fathers intended. On the other side of the coin, the Declaration of Independence is little more than a formalization of telling the British Crown to bugger off, and thus should, at best, be an auxilary source for interpreting intent. |
