Perspective, ok? Is the moment of silence JUST for the Christian contingent, or could it include other faiths as well? For instance buddhists, the moment of silence could be a moment for introspective meditation.

As for the students asked to go to another room to pray to Mecca I can see both good and bad in that. Good because if it is at a time that it would disrupt normal class activities and there is not enough space to accomodate their prayer rugs etc. a private room would seem to make sense. I see it as bad because it does single them out and sadly many Americans are quite xenophobic WRT muslims at this time.
