that most U.S. citizens wouldn't have the first clue on how to translate "e pluribus unum" ("out of many, one", JIC) and, thanks to a beer commercial some few years back, probably think it has something to do with partying? I've actually had a person tell me, with as straight a face as one could hope for, that "pluribus" meant something like "republican", and I'm half-certain he was talking about the political party at the time.
