if anyone does. But to force people of different beliefs to swear to a diety and belief system that they do not believe it. That I mind. My wife inherited her belief system from hundreds of ancestors. And it's not Christian. Why must the govt demand that she swear on deity that she doesn't believe in, and if she doesn't so swear, she is looked down upon and even told that she isn't making the proper oath? That is why the 1st amendment was framed so.
