The US has the largest GNP of any nation on earth today, by a full order of magnitude!

Now, I do love my country, but the thought that we could simply rule the world because we've got the biggest wallet terrifies me! What if we happen to be in the wrong on some issue and decide to force an economic capitulation that no-one else can make us back down from?

Even though it is my own country, I maintain that there must be checks on the power that the Us can exert in geopolitik. Otherwise, we become the tyrants, and the country I love will have died in the transition.
