sort of depends on what exactly is meant by 'refinement'. You are right, wisdom usually comes from experience. In my opinion, wisdom is the knowledge of what is important. Not from someone else's top ten list, but an ability to choose the most important from your current list of choices, and the knowledge of what that list is. OK, it IS hard to define. But I know it when I see it.
