There was a basis for the recounts. It is called the 2000 Florida Statutes. It provides for a recount. The problem was the discrepancy between that one, and the one that says that the Secretary of State had to deliver the final results soon after the election (like a week). This didn't give time for a recount. I lived in Tallahassee when this was going on. I followed it pretty well.
My comments on Republicans were made in response to a blanket statement about Democrats. The entire post was intended as satire, not a thorough or entirely accurate portrayal of anything or anyone. Sorry if you missed that. |
