Since I have none, all offspring are brats. However, that being said, there are so many shades of gray in that debate, it looks like a Frank Capra movie. Is the baby seal being killed for food or for some frou-frou broad's toney coat? Is the human baby born addicted to crack into an environment that nearly guarantees failure? Is the baby animal (not a seal anymore) a part of an endangered species? Because if it boils down to an endangered species or a person, it's a tough call to make. Billions of people vs. thousands or hundreds of a species we've mucked the habitat of to where it can no longer maintain healthy numbers. I'd personally go with the animal. That's what irritates me so much about the reactionary right: they see only black and white and fail to acknowledge the gray ares.
