Don't get me wrong; I don't claim to support the Democrat party myself.
But, let's face it; if someone's career depends on getting lots and lots of people to like them just long enough and at just the right times, you can't really expect that person to hold on to the hard line all of the time, right?
But, now I'll waffle a bit -- I really do prefer to see people who state their principles clearly and stand by them. Not with absolute rigidity, mind; there has to be room for compromise, or else we're stuck with radical conservatives who are just as objectionable as unprincipled liars would be. But, the nice thing, to my mind, about dealing with principled people is that you know where they're coming from and what they're after. It makes it a lot easier to work out a solution that benefits both them and myself. |
