If you hope to change people's minds about something rather than just coming across as another knee-jerker, making a ton of unsupported statements is not the way to do it. I happen to agree with somewhat more than half of what you said, but disagree on many points too, all with logical, non-knee-jerk reasoning behind it. Saying that knee-jerk is bad and then listing a doctrine of "reality checks" implies that anyone who disagrees with you is just "knee-jerking", which is arrogant and foolish.
