attitudes as I suspect I've seen today are in my imagination.
"Burn in hell, you <obscenity>!" in this context is either violently homophobic, or worse. To deny that it is homophobic, you would have to be saying that the reaction was to the kiss in general! Anyone who has that violent a reaction to a simple display of affection needs therapy badly.
If, therefore, we pursue this as a far more likely homophobic display of bigotry, I am at a loss to explain several UFies attitudes, especially GeekPrincess'.
It should be well known on this board that I am a Christian, and that I consider the practice of homosexuality to be sinful, and against the law of God (This has come up in discussions before.). So why am I so concerned about people exhibiting bigoted behavior towards a practice I believe is wrong? BECAUSE I am a Christian!
Anybody here claim to be God? (No jokes please, it's rhetorical.) Seems that some are deciding what's right and wrong for others, just like they THINK they are God! My obligation as a Christian is to proclaim God, and help anyone who wants to get closer to him. NOT to condemn someone because they do what I believe is wrong!
Those people who shouted at DennisMV and his partner, and anyone who supports them at all, are the worst kind of disgusting bigots! If they have the courage (which most bigots do not) to admit their bigotry, I will pray that they be helped, but I'll not permit it to go unchallenged here.
Dennis, I don't in any way support or defend your lifestyle, I believe it is wrong, but I will defend to my death your right to make your choice of it. (Sorry, I don't remember who to attribute my paraphrased quote to.) And I hope some who read this learn. |
