We use both here by Arienadean 2003-03-18 21:07:41
it was what I was brought up to do. When I'd mistakenly write check(examine/verify) for cheque(bank notes) I'd get corrected. Pretty much did with various sound alike words that have multiple spellings. In canada we use both spellings.(for the uses mentioned) I'm not sure if they do the same in the UK or if they default to only using "cheque." I found out amusingly tho they spell "tire" as "tyre" in the uk... Who knows what else is spelt diffrent but apprently there are a few words.<shrug>

I actually perfer it when a word has a single spelling if it is said the same. I hate multiple spellings but then again I have language issues.<shrug>
