Cool I just found I can get a BCID free	by Arienadean	2003-03-18 19:56:12
Apprently they'll give you one free if either a) you are on benifits and provide a recient stub(I'm on disability so qualify under this) or b) are giving up your drivers license because you no longer intend to drive. Also I found out so far the fee's don't seem to of increased yet for Drivers licenses. They are still at $40 and haven't gone to the $75 yet(no mention on their website of when that would be... via ICBC's site). BCID's normally cost $35 and the renewal is $15. Also intrestingly enough if you've not driven in the last 3 years and didn't renew your license. You still can renew without being retested. If you've not driven in over 3 yrs and hadn't renewed your license within that 3 yrs time period you have to retake the test to get a license again. But if you were driving in another country/province with a diffrent license you can get a BC license without too much hassle.
