I think that passerby reaction was _ALMOST_ justifiable if it was an intense PDA. Obviously, the comment about the fact that it was a gay couple doing it was _COMPLETELY_ inappropriate and unacceptable. And that made the entire reaction inappropriate.

To Explain:

I've _quietly_ publicly mocked heterosexual couples who are making out intensely in public before. I don't want to see someone giving a tonsilectomy to anyone else in public. However, I have rarely complained to people in a bar (quite frankly, a lot worse happens there) or in an airport (or anywhere else they might be saying good-bye for a long time). It also occurs to me that I've never done it to a homosexual couple. I think this might be because homosexuals face enough discrimination that any comment I make would probably be completely misinterpreted and I don't want that. My reaction has nothing to do with sexual orientation. For me, it has to do with making witnesses feel awkward (like you're witnessing a private moment) or rubbing it in their faces that they do not have significant others.

In my albeit rather prudish standards, a peck or a quick kiss is fine for any sort of couple (or triple or whatever). Anything more is inappropriate, excepting the two cases I've already outlined. However, I believe in trying to make people happier and not sadder, so I try to avoid making too loud of comments about PDA's.

All told, I'm really sorry DennisMV had to go through that. Noone should be made to feel in danger just for self-expression. I'm sorry you did.
