I think we probably have a generic term for just about everything. (But that's not a challenge to prove me wrong... I'm just thinking through my fingers.)

When I moved to the South, I was told that almost everything was called "coke" in North Carolina, but when I ordered a "coke" (meaning whatever cola they carry) I'd constantly have the waiter/waitress say "All we have is Pepsi, is that OK?"
